Today I clayed!
The bulky splint is off, I have really gross looking skinner blends all up my forearm and a greenish yellow palm of my hand. Gads, isn’t post-op bruising wonderful. It was so wonderful to finally wash and gently scratch my arm. I have no clue how folks who have casts on deal with the itching. I have asplint I get to wear now when I get achy but that puppy comes off with a rip of velcro
Yes, you read the title right, I clayed today! No silly little calcified cyst removal pain shall keep me from my beloved clay. I cranked out 5 skinner blends (no not the color of my arm) for a custom order for *eye* pod pen holders. I am pretty happy with how they are coming out. I have two completed, two part way done and ready for the eye arms, and 5 in the oven getting their first bake. The order is for 10 of them. I still have 8 pens to cover in matching colors but they shall go fast.
And after a day of claying, and cleaning, and baking, I thought I would take a moment to share what I am thankful for. For a good surgeon that fixed my arm, for the ability to clay, for my fur kids who keep me company all day while my partner is at work, for this computer, for the internet and all the caring people I have meet in the 5 years I have been claying. For friends, family, for being able to wake up breathing this morning and seeing the sun rise. Heck, for the beautiful day we had and the chance to drive around with the top down on the car. There are so many things in life I am thankful for, more then I can write down. Most of all, I want to thank YOU, who come by and read my blog, look at my art, and write notes. Know that means a lot to me. I hope your Thanksgiving is peaceful, safe, and full of great cooking!
