Busy, Busy, Busy

I have hooked up with Swap-bot for something different in the way of swaps. Of course the first swaps I joined are dragon themed….ATC’s (artist trading cards). I hadn’t made any ATC’s before but hey, dragons! Dragons always works for me so I jumped in feet first. I am in two different swaps. Dragon love is one. In this one I have two swap partners and will make each of them two ATC’s. The second one is a fantasy creature swap…anything to do with dragons, gnomes, elves, fairy and so on. Of course these will be dragons also. I will make one dragon card and one transfer/embellished card for my two partners in this one. The transfer cards are in the process right now but I thought I would share the Dragon Eye cards I have completed.

I am also in a geometric cane swap through Polymer Clay Central and have my five groups finished. I am going to make a few more to send in case the swapmeister has some drop outs. She can fill the spots with mine.

Geometric cane swap

I also have a …well either a necklace or bracelet (depends on how many cane slices I have) using a chain maille weave and taking cane slices from the swap canes (from my leftover sections) attaching them using the rings I am using for the weave. I am already to start, I just need to sit down with the optivisor and my tools. The cane slices are all drilled awaiting their rings.

Nothing like having five or more projects going at once. Thats what makes life so fun.

How do you spell relief?

You spell it by finally getting your MacBook Pro back from the Apple repair facility in Texas. Man, talk about feeling like I was missing my right arm. Sheesh. I didn’t realize how much I use this wonderful computer for so many thing. Using the old PC was beyond painful…so painful I hardly ever was on the computer. I will admit I did get some other things done around here that needed to be done. Like, organizing my clay supplies (which is about half way done so far), cleaning up windstorm damage, finishing an afghan, reading a few books I had sitting around, and just taking a break from the insanity of the internet. I did miss my friends, missed my blogs that I read daily, but I am back now with some new stuff brewing in my mind. So, your break is over folks….she’s back!!

The New Year

by Kathi on Friday, January 4, 2008

is beginning with a bang. Today my beloved MacBook Pro heads off in the box “ambulance” to the Apple hospital. Hopefully she will be back within a week. Silly DVD drive refuses to mount. I guess while the computers away I will get to play with my clay a lot more then when I do while surfing :)

I have some new ideas floating in my head to try and this break from computer land will be the perfect opportunity I am thinking. It also helped that I organized the room where I clay so I can actually find what I am looking for. Kind of a bizarre concept if you ask me. …organization. However will I be able to create? ;) One last thing needs to be done in the “organizing” and that is figuring out where and how to store 100 pounds of clay in this very small room that also passes as the guest room and the music room. Closet would be a good place, except it is already full *sheepish grin*. Until then I guess the boxes that are over flowing will be the way I go.

Happy weekend to all and Shabbat Shalom.
