Finally!

I can share the creations I made for the “Rock” swap with the wonderful clayer’s of Australia! They were very generous to allow me to join in and share some American art with them. I thought about what I would make for a few weeks and then bounced my idea off a Oz friend. I decided that most folks would be doing jewelry (I was right) and I wanted to do something totally different. Being that I love making canes of Native American inspired art I decided to make a wall hanging. Since it needed to be of the “rock/stone” theme I decided on three different types of stone: Turquoise, Sandstone, and Slate.

with that decision made I started the production line. I needed to make 10 of the “same” thing. Well as same as one can make hand crafted art. Nine were for swapping and the tenth was going on display in a gallery/shop in Australia. Not only display, but there would be a competition/judging of all the items. The winner gets some wonderful Christie Freisen items. I am amazed that I actually remembered to take pictures of the items before I sent them to Oz. Here they are

the 9 for swapping
Judging

The swapmeister posted pictures on Flickr of all the swapee’s images after she sent the packages on their way. Oh wow, they ahve created some amazing pieces. I am so looking forward to getting my package……most likely a couple weeks after everyone else!! Patience is a virtue eh?

Have a wonderful clayful week!
