Wonderful news. I have several friends this will affect!! It’s about time. How odd that just today I read Constance Pelkey’s blog and her state just put in a ban again. The bad thing is that now the religious “right” that will file the appeals will be airing their biases and misinterpretations again. We’ll all have to use our internal mute buttons.

sometimes there is at that Elaine!
Amen Connie Amen!
The county clerk here won’t issue any marriage licenses until they get something in writing from the state and have some guidance from county council. If it sticks, we will be getting married again, this time under the Chupah with a Ketubah and a big Mazel Tov!

It is good news isn’t it Susan? I wish folks (everyone….from right to left) would understand that this has nothing to do with destroying family values but has all to do with equal rights. Not to mention that the state can increase their income from the license fee’s ![]()

I know, Kathi. There is right as in direction and right as in not wrong. I’m afraid those people will never realize just what it means. And even if they do, they’ll never “buck” their “religious” leaders. I’m sure all kinds of fanatics will be getting on their soap-boxes and getting all kinds of attention. But…..it’s a wonderful break-through and hopefully the rest of the country will catch up. And how ’bout that gov?!!!

the problem with those silly fanatics is they think marriage is about religion and it isn’t. before the churches stepped in with their religious ceremonies it was a civil act. All I am asking for is the right to HAVE that civil act. Yes, I also want the Jewish ceremony, with the Chuppah and the Ketubah, but having it done at the court house will work too. I am impressed with Arnie’s response to the 1 million sigs to change the Constitution. sometimes he actually does something right ![]()
