So, besides writing a blog post yesterday, I also had some fun. I am making a friend an Ewok hat. I have it all done except the ears, stitching and buttons. That should be done today so she can get it! I will post pictures of the finished hat when it is ready. I also went and picked up MOST of my supplies on the list for my water color class which starts in little over a month. Having it sitting in the studio makes me all excited. Darn it, I have to wait a month….maybe I will play a bit with it so I don’t seem like a total idiot when class starts. Then last evening UPS came buy with my new “toy”. I had everything but the power supply to start copper plating and I finally saved enough money to get one. Thanks to Tink Martin , who has a wonderful tutorial and gave me the link to this machine, I am ready to start covering some orphan beads to make pretties. Yes, I promise pictures when I have something to show. I probably can’t start playing today because I have an Ewok to finish, a dental appointment, and am playing “driving Miss Karen” to the doc today. May your day be filled with fun, family, friends, and Laughter! create on!
So tonight is the gallery opening of the “Roots” show. Everyone said I needed to make a piece to wear. I was just going to wear my Star of David. Whatever was I thinking? In my world of procrastination I started the focal on Monday. Heck plenty of time to get it finished. I finished it last night and got the pictures. Just in time I would say. This piece was inspired by my love of Judaism, Julie Picarello and Jana Roberts Benzon. Those two ladies do some awesome clay work. I am pretty darn happy with how this one turned out. I guess I am ready for tonight. Thank G_d Karen and Munchie will be with me. Karen has said she will take pictures so there will be some to share tomorrow…I hope. Thanks for stopping by and looking. I hope you have a wonderful day.

copper focal finished
2 Comments, News, personal challenge, polymer clay, by Dragonsglass.whoa, what an insane last week what with trying to get things finished for Relay For Life. I promise to have pictures of that soon, but they are on Karen’s camera not mine so it will have to wait. However, I did manage to raise another $130 during Relay to donate to the ACS which made me very happy. And this morning I finally got my purple, orange and green neck piece finally finished. I decided to use a large gauge copper wire to create a torc for the pendant to hang from. I used heat on it to get the copper to have multi colors on it. I am very happy with how it turned out. Heck, I may even wear it to the museum gallery opening on the 14th. here are the pictures of it. And now…..off to watch some new metal working DVD’s! Happy claying.
I was playing around with copper tubing and different gauges of wire and finished out a focal with it. I am really happy with how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by. I am sure I will be more prolific soon.
