and the fun continues

This morning I got all my clay organized and put away, found the top of my clay table and desk. Books got added to the shelving unit and my old schlepping box emptied. I actually could clay. Did I? Noooooooooooo. I decided since I was smoking at getting things done that I should empty all the drawers in my rolling carts and the shelves in the closet to get things very organized. Read here…the clay room exploded :D (Jana would be so proud of me!)

Look at all the stuff on the table! oyLook at all the empty drawers!

Slowly I am weeding out things to sell. So far I have tons of pens, tins to cover, jump rings, some paints, and all sort of other things that I think I will keep secret. Surprises are good you know. I reached my dust limit so the rest of the drawers and shelves will be pulled tomorrow. Then I get to put it all back together! I bet I will be claying by Monday!

Over turned!!

The California State Supreme Court has over turned the ban on same sex marriages as being unconstitutional. You can read more about it here.

Will the birth pangs ever end?

I swear it seems like all I am doing is moving items from one place to another and am no closer to being able to sit down and clay. I will admit I *did* get a few things in place. Another thing I did manage to get done was to get my shelf of dragons up. I am happy with that

Shelf of dragons

There are dragons from Linda Weeks, Kathy Davis, Eva Eriksen, Pat Osmundsen, Moe Taylorson, Christi Friesen, Fae Moon, and one I made (and kept to remind me why I don’t sculpt)

I emptied three boxes and got magazines, books and some videos up on shelves. Today I put up a table and set aside the items I will be selling and the items I will be getting organized and labeled. I do have a computer working in there but for some reason Bertha does not want to connect with the internet. This was the last straw for me with her. As I am sorting I will also be burning stuff off her HD that I want to keep and then I will wipe her clean, put a new OS on her and offer her to who ever wants her. I will admit she is a good computer, for a PC, and deserves a good home. I am just happier using my MacBook Pro.

So here are pictures from yesterday. Does it even look like I made any progress? Oy.

My clay stock on the floor and my “wall of fame”..my medic certifications. My bookshelf and stuff that needs to be put away.Bertha’s corner…and where my inspiration board will bestack of stuff.

I keep hoping that it will be done when I wake up but nope….so I guess I need to get off the sofa and get into the room and back to work. I hope everyone has a clayful day!

Birthing a new clay room

by Kathi on Sunday, May 11, 2008

This weekend we have been busily putting our little “kingdoms” in order. I have spent most of my time bringing in and getting the living spaces back to order. The great room is all done and we have some very happy kids….as this picture shows.

Two Happy Cats

Karen has been working madly on getting the old office turned into her office and music studio room. I took pictures of the guest room that will soon become my new clay room too. These are taken before much of anything is in the room.

So….there you have it. Day one of the great clay room birth. That was yesterday. Today we went and picked up a desk and storage cupboard for in there. that will be my job tomorrow. putting those together and starting to figure out where I want to put everything. Of course I will have to work around the bed and the ironing board. Of course I will be reminded of all the ironing I have to do (the shirts hanging in the closet….I keep hoping for the ironing fairy to take care of that for me…but alas) until I get the closet door back on. Then it will be the “out of sight, out of mind” going on. And now…I think I will imitate my cats and collapse for a while.

Pictures!!

by Kathi on Thursday, May 8, 2008

I see I have some eager friends who want to see pictures. So here are a few to tide you over. These were taken as the workers were installing the floor. nothing is clean and things are so not where they belong. I promise to have more pictures when everything is put back and the floor has been all cleaned and spiffed up. Right now I am so tired I feel like I could sleep for a week and STILL be tired!

There you have it. for now, at least. Today I get to vacuum the sectional sofa and haul it back in. All the fur kids are a bit freaked that “their home” doesn’t look right. First priority is, of course, taking care of that problem and getting their sofa back in place so they can lounge on it. Then I need to un-burying Karen’s file cabinet and hutch so she can get her office back in order. What about my clay room you ask? well, that is low on the list. sucks doesn’t it? but, I really do need to get the rest of the house back to some semblance of normality (at least as much normality as we ever have here) before I can clay…or even find the clay.

I might need to sell some of my books and video’s to pay for the cabinets and counter top I want to place in the guest/clay room, but I will take that as it comes. So, for now, I wish you all a very clayful day!
